SMART Photonics offers production services for Indium Phosphide-based photonic chips, the so-called Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs). They are an independent, fast-growing "pure-play foundry" that produces PICs and photonic components according to customer designs. These photonic chips are an important step in making the internet faster and more energy efficient. In addition, it is expected that the use of photonic chips in sensors will have a disruptive impact in the field of measurement and analysis in industry sectors such as aviation, medical and automotive.
