About Deltics

Experience
Strategic growth, without losing our identity
In 2021, business owners Eric van Otten and Rob Bultman were ready to take the next step with their IT company Deltics. However, they weren’t looking for a buyer. They were looking for a partner who understood that culture, people and long-term vision matter just as much as numbers on a spreadsheet. “We were looking for a partner who shared our values and would work together with us instead of taking over the business,” says Eric.
Although an acquisition process was already underway, they decided to terminate that process. “It just didn’t feel right,” Rob recalls. “Sometimes you have to be willing to walk away. It wasn’t an easy decision, but it was the right one.” Soon after, they connected with Rooth and a co-investor. What followed was not a strictly formal process, but an open and natural partnership. Together, a buy-and-build strategy was developed, focusing on companies that are a true fit with Deltics in terms of company culture and people. This has led to the acquisitions of Micral (2022), H&R (2024) and Access42 (2025). “We’re not after rapid growth, we’re building sustainable strength,” Eric emphasises.
Although the IT sector evolves rapidly, Deltics chooses to stay focused, consciously developing its hardware and infrastructure proposition. While cloud technology may dominate, a reliable foundation remains essential. In parallel, Deltics has made significant progress in managed services and cybersecurity services. Today, these two areas are an integral part of the company’s offering.
For Eric and Rob, their own involvement never had a fixed end date. “We don’t do this because we have to, we do it because we want to. Deltics has grown but still has a lot of potential, and that’s the beauty of it,” says Eric. Together we are building a future-ready group of companies: strategically strong, people-focused and down-to-earth.
